Te Runanga o Waihao would like to extend an invitation to you as one of our Waihao rangatahi to attend 4 wananga held at Waihao Marae in August, September and October.
Enjoy reconnecting with your tribal links, whakawhanaungatanga (building connections with your wider whanau), delve into your whakapapa (family links to Waihao) and learn waiata, kapa haka, poi and taiaha.
Four weekends have been set aside for the young people of Waihao to have the opportunity to learn about their whakapapa, experience whakawhanaungatanga, engage and learn waiata specific to the whanau of Waihao Runanga by experienced tutors in Te Reo Maori, Kapa Haka and Tikanga.
Members of The Brennan whanau will tutor over these 4 weekends a range of kapa haka skills for beginners and advanced learners for all ages.

Dates for wananga are as follows:
Friday 4th August 6pm – Sunday 6th August 12pm
Friday 25th August 6pm – Sunday 27th August 12pm
Friday 15th September 6pm – Sunday 17th September 12pm
Friday 13th October 6pm – Sunday 15th October 12pm
We encourage the whanau of our Waihao rangatahi to also attend, to toutoko (support) and encourage their journey of cultural discovery.
