Tuna Mitigation Kaupapa – sharing our Tuna knowledge with Twizel Area and Omarama Schools.
As the tuna season and the trap and transfer mahi comes to a end this month, they were happy to find some tuna and a breeder. Wetere Home and
Tutemakohu Tau, Tuna Rangers visited Twizel Area School and Omarama School.
Students loved having and opportunity to learn more about Trap and Transfer and to see some tuna. We are all looking forward to more of these opportunities in the next season.
Waihao is hosting this kaupapa for the next 3 years, with Ngā Rūnanga, Arowhenua and Moeraki, and Manager, Greg Carson.
