Te Rūnanga o Waihao Holdings Limited is looking for a skilled whānau member to take up a vacant role on their Board.

Te Rūnanga o Waihao has grown to become a multi-million-dollar entity. We seek a director skilled in governance with some or all the core competencies, skills, and experience listed below.

Te Rūnanga o Waihao Holdings Ltd is looking to grow and seeks to enhance its performance by increasingly diversifying through new investment opportunities.

 

Prospective directors must be qualified to be directors in terms of the Companies Act 1993 and the Constitution of Te Rūnanga o Waihao Holdings Ltd.

It is expected that all directors will have experience in governance and sourcing investments.

It is expected that all directors will uphold Waihao’s values and be able to look at the work of the company through an intergenerational lens.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making.
  • A high standard of personal integrity.
  • Commercial and governance experience.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Sound knowledge of legal compliance and risk management responsibilities.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to debate reasonably.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Risk assessment and contingency management.
  • Reliability and dependability.

Desired qualities for all directors:

  • Kotahitanga (Teamwork):

A capable communicator and a personal style that does not detract from a board culture of capability, can-do, trust, and professionalism.

  • Mana (Integrity):

High ethical standards and integrity in all personal and business dealings.

  • Ihu Oneone (Pragmatism):

The ability and intelligence to make sensible and practical yet astute business decisions and recommendations based on reasonable assumptions, and information, including the ability to deal with uncertainty, risk, incomplete information, and complexity, both in the present and reaching out into the future.

WAIHAO MARAE KOMITI:  EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR KOMITI MEMBERS

*CALLING ALL WHANAU MEMBERS*

After receiving such great feedback from the whānau about the Marae Komiti, the Board and whānau considered several different options and decided to have a Komiti of four, made up of a Chair, a Marae Trustee Representative, and two whānau representatives. Our Upoko and Kai Karanga will act as advisors to the Komiti and may be called upon when needed.

We are now able to call for expressions of Interest in the following positions on our Marae Komiti:

  • Chairperson
  • Two Whānau representatives

They will each serve a term of three (3) years. Those who put their names forward will be expected to attend the Rūnanga AGM on 19 Oct either online or in-person to speak to their interest in serving on the Komiti. The whānau will elect those it chooses to serve on the Komiti.

We are seeking whānau members who have experience with some or all of the following:

  • A long-term relationship with Te Rūnanga o Waihao and some knowledge of its history.
  • Minute taking ability.
  • Computer skills and the creativity needed to develop flyers etc.
  • Sourcing funding and completing funding applications.
  • Chairperson experience and ability to lead a small team of committed whānau.
  • Event and organising skills and experience
  • Health and Safety
  • Budget Management

2024 BOARD MEMBER ELECTION

At the 2024 AGM the term as Elected Board Member will end for Rynee de Garnham.

Nominations Open on August 30th.

Nominations Close on 20th September.
Nominees shall be announced the following week.

Voting to be conducted by secret ballot at the AGM on 20th October.

  • 30 mins break into small groups to discuss housing aspirations

 

12:30 PM Pōwhiri for NZ Tomorrow

  • Whānau set up wharenui for pōwhiri for 12:30pm

 

1:00 PM onwards Lunch & Filming

NZ Tomorrow team will join us for lunch and film with whānau who want to share kōrero on Nitrates in our drinking water
